2011 Winners
The Picture a Park photo contest returns for its 2nd year! Photos from any time of year can be submitted between June 1 and September 5, 2011. Photographs will be judged on impact, image quality, composition and story telling. Sponsored by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB), People for Parks (PFP and National Camera, Picture a park is designed to highlight the life and times in Minneapolis year round.
Photographs and completed entry forms must be submitted between June 1 and September 5, 2011 via www.natcam.com.
Photos will be available online for public vote for the Peoples’ Choice Award!
The Minneapolis Park Board People's Choice Awards had some problems with our Facebook attempt to collect votes, due to a limitation of images in an photo album. We have now a new voting page that will allow you to vote for your favorite image from the 2011 Contest.
Voting will end on October 14th at 11:59 PM so cast your vote for your favorite image, contact friends, relatives and neighbors to see an excellent assortment of images.
Voting is simple. Select your favorite image from the bottom row of images, them fill in all fields and click on the My Minneapolis Park Board Favorite Button to cast your vote. The link to vote is http://www.silverimages.com/mpb/
Results will be posted on the Minneapolis Park Board Website and National Camera Exchanges Website.
2011 Contest Rules
Photographer Categories:
First Place: 2012 calendar featuring winning photographs.
Second Place: Certificate of Recognition
Third Place: Certificate of Merit
Best of Show (awarded to the overall winners of the youth and adult divisions)
Gold: $100 National Camera gift card and up to a 16x20 enlargement of their winning entry
Silver: $50 National Camera gift card and up to a 16x20 enlargement of their winning entry
Bronze: National Camera gift card and up to a 16x20 enlargement of their winning entry
Peoples’ Choice Award (as chosen by viewer votes on the National Camera website)
Peoples’ Choice Award winners will receive a 5’’ x 11’’ individually engraved paver at the Lake Harriet Bandshell.
Submitted photos may be used at the discretion of the MPRB and PFP, including and not limited to, Web sites, print and online publications, social media, marketing, media requests, public displays, etc.
