Arbor Day

The 2017 Arbor Day Celebration took place at Lake Hiawatha Park on April 28. The FREE  festival-style event included tree-themed activities and educational opportunities, music, food, beer and tree planting trees. This event was possible thanks to People for Parks, Brewing a Better Forest and Pat's Tap and numerous community partners. Community members & MPRB planted more than 300 trees in the surrounding parkland.

People for Parks has a long history of supporting our urban forest. Annually, People for Parks provides funding for tree planting in Minneapolis Parks. A majority of tree planting funds were made possible by a bequest by Carl Remick Jr. designated for reforestation.
